The HID® Signo™ 40 White Reader is designed to fit a standard wall switch box — which means straightforward installation without the need for custom backplates or adapters. Flush mounting is enabled through terminal block wiring, keeping the finished installation clean and unobtrusive. A surface detection feature allows the reader to automatically recalibrate and optimise read range based on the surface it's mounted on, which removes a small but meaningful source of post-installation frustration.

Compatibility is a strong suit here. The Signo 40 supports HID Mobile Access® via native Bluetooth and NFC, and works across multiple card frequency technologies — so organisations migrating from legacy systems don't need to replace their entire credential infrastructure overnight. It's also fully compatible with HID Reader Manager, allowing remote configuration and management without requiring physical access to each reader. An Intelligent Energy Saving Mode reduces power draw when the reader is idle.
