Choosing an EasyBadge ribbon

EasyBadge printers turn up in Irish primary schools, community centres and small businesses that wanted an ID card system without a manual the thickness of a phone book. The ribbons follow the same idea: one full-colour cartridge per printer generation, and you buy the one that matches the number on the front of your machine. This page carries the EasyBadge 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 ribbons.

The generation matters. The EasyBadge 3.0 YMCKO ribbon and the EasyBadge 2.0 YMCKO ribbon each give 100 full-colour prints and fit their own printer. The EasyBadge 1.0 ribbon is a 659339 YMCFKO UV type with 200 prints, which adds a fluorescent panel that prints an image visible only under UV light, a useful anti-copy feature for school and club cards. The 1.0 ribbon is €91 ex VAT; the 2.0 and 3.0 ribbons are priced on request by phone.

What to look for on an EasyBadge printer ribbon

  • Printer generation. 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 ribbons are not interchangeable. The version number is on the printer and on your last ribbon box.
  • Panel type. YMCKO is standard full colour with a protective overlay. YMCFKO adds the UV fluorescent panel, so the 1.0 ribbon can print a hidden logo or crest.
  • Print count. 100 prints per YMCKO ribbon on the 2.0 and 3.0, 200 on the 1.0 UV ribbon. A school of 400 pupils will get through four ribbons at enrolment, so order accordingly.

Cards, software and printer bundles

EasyBadge printers are usually sold as ID card printer bundles with cards and a starter ribbon, and the EasyBadge Lite, Professional and Smart design packages are in the card printing software collection. Reorder blank white cards with the ribbon, and keep a kit from printer cleaning kits handy. If your printer is actually an Evolis Badgy, a different machine with a similar name, its consumables are under Evolis Badgy ribbons. Everything ships from Dublin to customers across Ireland.

Which ribbon does my EasyBadge printer take?

Match the generation: EasyBadge 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0. The number is printed on the printer. If it has worn off, the part number on your old ribbon box will settle it.

How many cards does an EasyBadge ribbon print?

100 full-colour cards on the 2.0 and 3.0 YMCKO ribbons, 200 on the 1.0 YMCFKO UV ribbon. Printing both sides halves those figures.

Is a Badgy ribbon the same as an EasyBadge ribbon?

No. Badgy is an Evolis printer and takes Evolis Badgy ribbons. EasyBadge ribbons fit EasyBadge printers only.
