Choosing a Magicard Enduro ribbon

The Enduro has been a workhorse in Irish offices, schools and clubs for years, and the ribbons it takes are the MA series, shared with several other Magicard printers of the same era. That is good news if you run an Enduro 3E: the consumables are still stocked in Dublin, from €36 ex VAT, and the part numbers have not changed.

The choice comes down to colour or monochrome, and how many cards you print between ribbon changes. Yields run from 100 to 1000 prints, and the price per card falls as the yield rises.

The MA300YMCKO is the everyday colour ribbon and, per card, the better value over the 100-print version. The MA250YMCKOK adds a second black panel for a dual-sided Enduro, so one ribbon prints a colour front and a text back. The MA1000K black is the visitor-pass ribbon; the white version prints onto dark or coloured cards.

Cards, cleaning and related Magicard ribbons

All of these print on standard CR80 blank white cards, and a cleaning kit at every ribbon change keeps the printhead free of the dust that causes white lines. The MA series also fits the Pronto and Rio Pro, so the Pronto ribbons and Rio Pro ribbons pages overlap with this one.
