The Paxton 690-222 Net2 Hands-Free Key Fobs are designed for use with the Net2 access control system — specifically with P and KP readers fitted with the hands-free interface, and with long-range readers. The defining characteristic here is in the name: users don't need to physically present the fob to the reader. Simply being within range is enough to trigger access, which makes them well suited to environments where hands are frequently occupied — loading areas, production floors, or anywhere a tap-and-present workflow creates a bottleneck.
The read range runs from 0.85m to 2.5m, operating at 125KHz. Battery life is rated at 3 years, so day-to-day management is minimal once deployed. The kind of credential that gets issued and largely forgotten about — until it works exactly as expected.
