The STid Architect® Modular MIFARE® & DESFire® Touchscreen Reader — also referred to as the ARC-C reader — brings a considered approach to access control for buildings where both security and presentation matter. The colour touchscreen displays a PIN keypad or supplementary information, and the reader supports secure RFID and NFC HCE credentials with a reading range of up to 4cm.

Where it earns particular attention is the built-in scramble pad function. Each time a PIN is entered, the keypad layout is randomly rearranged on screen — the kind of detail that quietly closes off a common vulnerability. Shoulder-surfing and pattern recognition become far less useful when the numbers move. For facilities where access codes are shared or frequently used, that matters more than most standard readers acknowledge.

Available in Standard (ARC-R31-C/PH5-3i/1) and Bluetooth (ARCS-R31-C/BT1-3i/1) configurations, the modular architecture means it can be specified to match the wider access control infrastructure already in place.
