Choosing speciality blank cards for jobs a plain card cannot do

Most ID printing needs only a standard white 760 micron card. This collection is for the rest: the card that hangs from a clip, the card thin enough to stick onto something else, the card that becomes three key tags, and the card with a magnetic stripe or signature panel. Irish gyms, schools and clubs buy here when the plain blank stops being enough.

The range covers slot-punched cards in portrait and landscape, thin cards at 250 and 480 microns including the Evolis Badgy CBGC0020W, self-adhesive cards at 320, 400 and 480 microns plus the Magicard M9007-011 CR80 in packs of 500, the Dyestar 3-UP key tag card, and Dyestar cards with a Lo-Co magnetic stripe or signature strip. Packs start from €13 ex VAT.

Slot punched, thin, adhesive or key tag: what to look for

  • Slot punched: a pre-cut slot on the short edge takes a strap clip, luggage strap or lanyard clip directly, with no holder.
  • Thin cards: 250 and 480 micron stock for printers and applications that cannot take a full-thickness card.
  • Self-adhesive: peel-and-stick cards for putting a printed ID onto a card that will not feed through a printer.
  • 3-UP key tags: one card, three key fobs, printed in a single pass and snapped apart.

Printer compatibility and the related card ranges

All run through standard direct-to-card printers with the usual ribbon, with two caveats: check the minimum thickness before ordering 250 micron cards, and keep artwork clear of slots, perforations and stripes. Frequently asked questions

Do I need a slot-punched card or can I punch my own?

You can punch a standard card with a hand slot punch after printing, but pre-punched cards save the step and the slot is reliably central.

Will thin cards work in my ID card printer?

Most desktop printers have a minimum feed thickness. 480 micron is widely accepted; 250 micron suits specific printers such as the Evolis Badgy, so check the manual or ring us.

How do 3-UP key tag cards work?

A single 760 micron card divided into three key tags, each sized for a key ring.
