Choosing an ID card printer cleaning kit
Every card printer in Ireland is quietly collecting dust, card-edge debris and the odd fingerprint on its rollers, and the printhead is where that ends up. The first sign is usually a thin white line down every card; the second is a replacement printhead invoice. A cleaning kit costs a fraction of that, and the routine is simple: clean at every ribbon change.

What to look for in card printer cleaning supplies
- Cleaning cards. Adhesive or alcohol cards run through like a blank card and lift debris from the rollers; long-sleeve cards reach further into the card path.
- Printhead swabs and pens. Swabs clean the printhead itself, the part that touches the ribbon; the Fargo HDP6600/8500 kit bundles four swabs with ten cards and ten pads.
- Cleaning rollers. Adhesive rollers catch dust before it reaches the card; Magicard's 3633-0054 and Fargo's 086004 are replaced rather than cleaned.
- Genuine or compatible. DuraClean kits mirror the manufacturer part numbers at a lower price.
Matching a cleaning kit to your printer and ribbons
Check the part number against your printer model, because a Zebra ZC100 card is not a Fargo HDP roller. Many printer ribbons include a cleaning roller in the box, which handles dust but not the printhead. The wider printer accessories range carries power supplies and ribbon shredders, and blank cards kept in their wrapper do half the job. Everything ships from Dublin.
