Choosing a Zebra ZXP Series 9 for retransfer ID cards

There is a point at which a direct-to-card printer stops being good enough. It arrives when the card is a contactless access card with a chip under the surface, when the brand guidelines demand colour right to the edge, or when a card issued today has to look the same in five years. The Zebra ZXP Series 9 answers all three. It is a retransfer printer: the image is printed in reverse onto a clear film, and the film is bonded to the card under heat.

  • Durability and tamper resistance. The bonded film sits between the print and the world, and peeling it destroys the image.
